Kristie's Year in Review: My Favorite Moments, Places, and Memories of 2020

Every year I like to document my most pivotal moments and favorite places and then compare my answers with the previous year. What can I say about 2020? It was quite unlike any other with it’s fair share of highs and lows, and lots of staying indoors. When I look back, I’ll remember it as the year Billy and I decided to leave our lives behind in L.A. and move to New York City. I’ll remember it as the year my parents bought a beach house at the Connecticut shore and I enjoyed spending my summer mornings waking up to the stunning sights and soundsRead More →

Gina's Year in Review: Favorite Moments, Places, and Memories of 2020

This year has been collectively known as one of the worst years in U.S. history, thanks to COVID-19. I tried to make the most of it by continuing to evolve, learn, and be my best self. I graduated from college and got my Bachelor’s degree in May, which was the highlight of my year. As far as creating new memories, I didn’t have the opportunity to make as many as I would have liked to due to the related isolation. For me, this year was a time for personal growth and self-care. I ate healthier, did yoga daily, and adopted a more positive mindset. BeforeRead More →

Christmas in NYC: Our colorful Christmas tree

This is the first time that I won’t be spending the holidays with my family because of the pandemic. Instead, Billy and I will celebrate our first Christmas in NYC (not vacationing this time, we moved here a month ago). Rather than getting upset that we can’t spend this festive season with my family, we decided to embrace it and start some new traditions of our own. Here’s what we’ve been doing so far and what we’re planning to do throughout the rest of December. What we’ve done so far… Listened to my Christmas playlist day and night. I start playing Christmas music throughout ourRead More →

What I Loved in November, 2020: skateboarding through the Shoreline Bike Path

This month Gina will be sharing her monthly must-haves! A collection of things I loved in November, from beauty products and fashion to entertainment and everything in between. This month I loved night skateboarding through the Shoreline Bike Path in Long Beach. The weather has cooled down and the glowing lights of downtown that highlight this trail truly make it feel like the holidays. I’m also obsessed with my cute rose and white gold penny board, as it’s really easy to use for beginner skaters like myself. Riding through the crisp air gives me a relaxing and happy feeling. With all the stresses going onRead More →

15 Affordable Autumn Must-Haves

Every year when autumn arrives there’s a special feeling in the air. One of my favorite things about the season are the rainy nights, which are perfect for cozying up inside with a cup of tea and Netflix. I also look forward to the transition of switching out my summer essentials for products representative of the fall such as seasonal vegetables, warm weather clothing, and pumpkin spice everything. Here’s my list of 15 affordable autumn must-haves that I’ve purchased (and love) this season. Looking forward to a spa night when the weather gets cool (bonus if it’s raining) feels so therapeutic. I’ll start by drawingRead More →

What I Loved in October, 2020: Autumn Foliage

A collection of things I loved in October, from beauty products and fashion to entertainment and everything in between. I decided to move back to the East Coast for many reasons, but one of the biggest was that I missed the four seasons. The last time I got to experience autumn and the leaves changing colors was in 2010 before I moved to Los Angeles. Because I grew up around it, and witnessed it every year, it was never a big deal to me. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I actually started to miss it. The other day Billy and I wereRead More →

Election Day 2020 - Separating Voting Myths From Facts

Voting is an important civic duty for any citizen 18 years or older. It’s easy to think since you’re only one person, your vote won’t hold any significance or make a difference. However, your vote always matters. For example, political power is influential, otherwise, people wouldn’t try to take voting rights away from certain individuals. Voting is the principal part of democracy as it gives citizens the power to control the government and choose what policies we will put into place. Political power is also pivotal for the government resources we will receive. This year, your vote in the general election is crucial, since there’sRead More →

Why I’m Leaving Los Angeles After Almost 10 Years

After living in Los Angeles for almost 10 years, Billy and I said goodbye to the city we instantly fell in love with. This past July, as we flew back to New England to spend the summer with my family, we knew there was a chance we wouldn’t be returning to L.A. (at least not for a while). The decision to leave wasn’t one that either of us took lightly. We went back and forth, discussing the pros and cons of leaving Los Angeles and moving to New York City. How we came to our decision to move to New York City It all beganRead More →

What I Loved in September, 2020: NYC sunsets

A collection of things I loved in September, from beauty products and fashion to entertainment and everything in between. Sure, the streets of New York City look a lot different than they did pre-Covid, but spending a few days here (in couldn’t-ask-for-better- weather) has been a completely different experience. Billy and I have been able to get around the city a lot easier since it’s less crowded than what we’re used to.  Whenever I’m vacationing in the city I make a point of stopping in my favorite candy store, Sugarfina. (I love their colorful confections so much, I created a V-Day charcuterie board a fewRead More →
