Healthy Lifestyle Choices: Returning to The Gym a Year Later

Last week I was reading an old blog post I wrote back in 2018. It was a list of fitness tips that I had discovered over the years. In it, I detailed the various things I did that led me to make healthy lifestyle choices and kick ass in the gym. Fast forward three years and things have changed dramatically. Before last week, I hadn’t stepped inside a gym in almost a year. As soon as the gyms (and everything else) shut down in Los Angeles, I purchased a treadmill, dumbbells, and resistance bands and did my best to have a decent workout inside myRead More →

15 Minute No Bake Protein Brownie Bars

The other day @unicornsuperfoods reposted a delicious looking recipe for no bake protein brownie bars. Ever since I saw it, I have been dying to try them. Aside from the Unicorn Superfood protein powder (that I already had) the recipe required only five ingredients. Yesterday, I made them and couldn’t believe what little time it took (under 15 minutes). Instead of following the exact recipe, I used chocolate fudge protein powder rather than vanilla cake. If you’re in need of an energy boost, these plant-based brownie bars are a decadent afternoon pick me up or an ideal pre-workout snack! You will need: 1 cup darkRead More →

What It’s Like to Style a Music Video + The Premiere of “The Comeback”

Fashion is my genuine passion and primary source of creativity. Looking through runway archives is like wandering around an art museum. One of my favorite pastimes is viewing street style from around the world on social media, to use as inspiration for my personal style. For as long as I can remember, my dream career was to work in the creative field of styling. While I was in college, I worked as a celebrity wardrobe stylist, which I talk about here. A lot has changed this past year, which has led me to rethink what I want to do. Lately, I’ve been learning more towardsRead More →

How to Heal Your Dry and Cracked Hands Once and For All

Every winter like clockwork, my hands become dry and cracked. This is something I’ve dealt with year after year (even when I lived in Los Angeles and it was significantly warmer than the East Coast). It starts around October and lasts until April or when the weather begins to warm up. If I slack off on applying lotion, I’ll get painful cuts all over my hands (especially on my knuckles). I’ve come to accept that it’s a side effect of winter caused by a lack of humidity in the air and over-washing my hands. Over the years I can’t begin to count the various lotions,Read More →

Everything Gina Watched (and Enjoyed) During Quarantine

While quarantining during most of 2020, I had a lot of free time. I saw a myriad of movies, documentaries, and TV shows that kept me entertained and inspired. There were so many that stood out, I feel like they deserve to be discussed. Now that it’s winter, it’s that time of the year (no matter where you live), where your couch and TV become your best friends. There’s nothing more comforting than making a cup of hot chocolate and watching an entertaining TV show (or film) on a rainy or snowy night. Here is my list of 10 TV shows, movies, and documentaries thatRead More →

Winter Coat Guide: 36 Styles I’m Loving This Season

One of the best things about moving back to the East Coast is being able to purchase cold weather clothing and accessories and actually wear them more than a few times each year. When I lived in L.A. I’d vacation here for a few weeks in December. Immediately upon returning to the California sunshine and winters of 75 degrees or warmer my cold weather clothing got pushed to the back of my closet. As I created this winter coat guide filled with my favorite picks, I was sure to include a variety of styles, colors, textures, and price points. Here are 36 coats that willRead More →

The Healthy Snacks at The Top of My Shopping List

In November I moved to New York City and lived in an empty apartment for about two weeks. During that time it was much easier to order an Impossible burger on Postmates than grocery shop and make something healthy. I told myself that after the holidays were over I would get back on track, and here we are. On January 1st, I committed to making positive changes to my lifestyle by working out three to four times a week (something that’s important to me but I’ve slacked off on recently), drinking more water, transferring my plant-based meal delivery service from L.A. to NYC, and snackingRead More →

Kristie's Year in Review: My Favorite Moments, Places, and Memories of 2020

Every year I like to document my most pivotal moments and favorite places and then compare my answers with the previous year. What can I say about 2020? It was quite unlike any other with it’s fair share of highs and lows, and lots of staying indoors. When I look back, I’ll remember it as the year Billy and I decided to leave our lives behind in L.A. and move to New York City. I’ll remember it as the year my parents bought a beach house at the Connecticut shore and I enjoyed spending my summer mornings waking up to the stunning sights and soundsRead More →
