Summer is officially upon us and that means long days spent lounging at the beach or by the pool. With that comes shopping for new swim apparel. We’ve created our annual swimsuit guide that’s filled with flattering one piece swimsuits and bikinis in various colors, patterns, and textures (think tie-dye, marble, space dye, metallics, stripes, and more). Because we know that everyone looks for something different when searching for the idea swimsuit, we’ve included a variety of silhouettes like a high cut leg, full coverage bottoms, cheeky bottoms, triangle tops, halter tops, tops for fuller busts, wrap detailing, deep v’s, just to name a few. We’ve also relied heavily on swimsuits from the 1960s to the 1990s for our inspiration. Here are 18 of our favorites along with why we love them.
H&M Flounced Shaping Swimsuit ($39.99) This timeless one piece comes in three prints (pink and white stripes, rust polka dots, and solid navy blue). It has a flattering ruffled v-neck, gathers at the waist for shaping and support and doubles as a bodysuit.
Veronica Beard “Salis” Swimsuit ($278) A pretty purple and red floral print, this one piece made our swimsuit guide because of its timeless silhouette. It features a sexy open back, halter style top, and cheeky bottoms.
Solid & Striped “The Spencer” Swimsuit ($188) Bubble gum pink with a delicate shimmering zig zag print that catches the sunlight. This belted one piece features a bustier silhouette and gives us nostalgic Barbie vibes.
Free People “The Lulu” Bikini Top ($78) and Bottoms ($78) A minimal coverage set that features a triangle top and cheeky bottoms with soft pink, green, and blue stripes.
Oseree “Disco 90s” Bikini ($270) If you’re looking to stand out this summer, this glam disco bikini with a 90s silhouette is the answer. It made it to our swimsuit guide because of its shimmery silver sequin fabric, flattering high-cut and high-waisted bottoms, and a deep plugging sliding halter top.
Peek & Beau Fuller Bust Bikini Top ($38) and Bottoms ($24) When it comes to patterns, striped prints can slim you down and highlight your shape. This coral bikini does just that with its halter bra style under-wire top (it comes in sizes D-F) for fuller busts. There are two bikini bottom styles to choose from, but we’re loving the high-waisted version because of its ode to the 1950s.
Lovewave “The Daniella” Swimsuit ($158) A unique and colorful pixelated pattern, crisscross straps, and a cutout cheeky design make this the statement swimsuit of the summer.
L’Space “Phoebe” Swimsuit ($169) A solid ribbed one piece that comes in gorgeous shades of neon blue, green, and pink. What stands out is the side cut out shoulder detail that adds a little something extra. It has a shelf-bra for added support and offers a classic coverage bottom.
Lovewave “The Bodi” Swimsuit ($138) Another eye-catching, minimal coverage suit that made our swimsuit guide is this pink ombre one piece. With its deep plunging halter neck and crisscross straps that connect to the cheeky bottoms, this is the swimsuit to wear if you want to stand out.
Peixoto “Fifi” Bikini Top ($70) and Bottoms ($68) A pastel watercolor print that looks like the colors of a summer sunset. It comes in a classic triangle top and full-coverage hipster side-tie bottoms.
Zimmermann “Shelly” Tie-Dye Bikini ($185) A unique blend of golden yellow, pastel pink, and maroon tie-dye, this bikini set screams 1960s. The top has a timeless triangle style and the bottoms feature side ties and a cheeky cut.
Xhilaration Ribbed Tie-Dye Bikini Top ($17.99) and Bottoms ($14.99) This ribbed tie-dye bikini stands out for its sporty silhouette and the hipster bikini bottoms that give moderate coverage.
Kona Sol One Shoulder Swimsuit ($39.99) This one piece features a classic style, modest coverage while taking it to a new level with scalloped edges and a one shoulder detail.
Nasty Gal Plus Size High Leg Swimsuit ($8) This white one piece swimsuit has a trendy v-neckline, a high-cut leg, and cheeky bottoms which make it ideal for showing off a sun-kissed tan.
Out From Under “Erica” Swimsuit ($72) An epitome of the late 80s, this one draws similarities to Pamela Anderson’s Baywatch suit. The high-cut silhouette, low-cut sides and deep plunging neckline make it a sultry summer staple. PS: It doubles as a bodysuit.
Monica Hansen Vintage Wrap Bikini Top ($140) and Bottoms ($140) A trending wrap around top, ruched bottoms, pastel yellow marble print, and metallic finishes, make this the ideal retro 70s bikini.
Frankies Bikinis “Tia” Bikini Top ($70) and Bottoms ($70) Minimal coverage for the perfect tan. The “Tia” bikini comes in a variety of vibrant patterns and showcases a triangle top and high-cut thong bottoms.
Frankies Bikinis “Willow” Bikini Top ($95) and Bottoms ($90) A groovy neon floral print that takes us back to the 60s and 70s while sporting a modern twist. The bottoms blend a vintage high-cut leg and side ties with a contemporary thong-style. The top provides an adjustable front and back with a center cut out.
