things to do in los angeles

During my hectic work week I don’t have any free time; my days consist of work and then heading to yoga in the evening. When the weekend arrives, I try to make the most of it by doing all the things I don’t have time to do during the week. Living in L.A. means there’s constantly something unique and exciting happening. A quick Internet search or a phone call to a friend and you can be certain you’ll discover something worth checking out. When it comes to making my weekend plans I try to make them about a week in advance if possible and occasionallyRead More →

things to do on a rainy day

When rain hits Los Angeles everything comes to a halt. Luckily this isn’t something we have to deal with very often, so when we get a rainstorm I look forward to the change. Since our most recent one lasted a few days I had no choice but to venture out of my apartment. While outside, I paused to admire how beautiful (and clean) the city looked; how the skyscrapers sparkled and glistened. During these four gloomy days, I listened to my rainy day playlist, did an at home facial, created recipes from new cookbook, watched a movie, caught up on my TV shows, and generallyRead More →

New Year's Goals

Back in November I thought about what I wanted to achieve for 2019. While 2018 was an amazing year both personal and career-wise, I wanted to plan out the upcoming year ahead of time. Instead of making a list of New Year’s resolutions, I created a list of New Year’s goals. The difference being that resolutions tend to be black or white, while goals can be steps that you can take to achieve your main objective. I thought long and hard and visualized what I wanted to change in my career, personal life, and in my relationships. Here’s what I came up with. Set asideRead More →

Achieving goals

As a Type A person I thrive on organization and planning. I have never been able to do things spontaneously and that’s why I’m a big fan of goal planning. Whenever I think of something I’d like to achieve I’ll jot it down in my iPhone or in my planner. At the end of each month I’ll look over what I’ve written down and I’ll create a list of goals that I would like to achieve for the month ahead and when I want to accomplish them by. These are the goal planning tools I use: The SMART acronym: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely.Read More →

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is a business self-help book I was introduced to during my Business Management program while in school for fashion design. I was never thrilled to have to read for class, but I became hooked on this one. It’s written by Stephen Covey and became one of his best-sellers, selling over 25 million copies worldwide. After reading it, I became inspired, and I felt heavily influenced to align my goals and ambitions to these habits. The 7 Habits are as follows; Be Proactive, Being with the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand,Read More →
