I think it all started with my love for the movie Marie Antoinette. The scene where she’s eating all the desserts, made me want cake, éclairs and macaroons ASAP. I had heard of Bottega Louie, and one day I was walking out of the apartment I had just moved into, and saw it was a few blocks down the street and decided to walk in. OMG…I became obsessed! It takes a lot of self-control to not walk in every time I pass by and order one of their desserts or buy a box of macaroons. Last year I bought my sister and my mom a box for Christmas and as soon as I got off the plane, I made my mom open one of her “gifts” and ate most of them—in the airport. That’s how good they are! If you don’t live in the area, you can have a box delivered, they also deliver their cookies, pasta and pasta sauce, coffee, candy, gift boxes, and chocolate, or stop in and buy them in their gourmet market—all make great Christmas gifts or hostess gifts. I’ve bought their amazing pasta sauce to make baked ziti. They’re known for their desserts, but their brunch and dinner are just as good.
These are some pictures I’ve taken while dining there or getting dessert to go…
Located in DTLA, Bottega Louie’s restaurant has a bakery, market and bar. It was voted best brunch in 2016 by LA Downtown news. America’s top 20 tables where tycoons wine and dine by Forbes Magazine. #1 place in LA to host a birthday dinner by Guest of a Guest, among many other awards. It’s a blessing and a curse to live down the street, luckily my apartment has a gym.
