Every summer throughout my childhood, my family and I would head to a small town on the Connecticut shoreline. The tradition of spending the summertime in Westbrook, CT began with my great grandfather in 1948 and has continued for seven generations. In fact, my first stay in this beachside town, I was six months old. This ritual of packing up the car and heading to the shore continued until I was in my late teens when the cottage we stayed at was no longer available. Not wanting to give up vacationing in the same town that holds a ton of special memories, we switched to
For the first 20 years of my life, my family and I had a tradition that I looked forward to every year. Each summer we would pack up the car and head down to the Connecticut shoreline. We stayed at a cottage on the ocean for an entertaining and unforgettable vacation. Eventually the cottage was sold and we switched to a beach resort, and then I moved to Los Angeles. Since then, I’ve only been back to my favorite spot once. This summer however, my mom found a beach house on the same street that I grew up vacationing on and I couldn’t be more
We’re halfway through 2019 and I have to admit, for the first time in a while I’m addicted to the TV. It’s not necessarily a good thing, but I’m discovering so many shows that I’m absolutely loving. The kind where I can’t wait for the day to end so I can slip into some comfy lounge wear, grab some snacks, and tune in. I mean, Big Little Lies is back, and we’re getting a dose of nostalgia with the revival of Beverly Hills 90210 and The Hills: New Beginnings! Here are my recommendations on the best TV shows to watch this summer, along with the
I’ve never been one to shy away from a wellness treatment that has the potential to enhance my overall sense of well-being. When I was given the opportunity to try an at home IV infusion from Wlnss, I jumped at the chance. In the past I’ve had a few B12 shots, but those were nothing compared to having potent vitamins enter directly through my bloodstream. These past few weeks, I’ve been doing more cardio and lifting, and on top of that, I’ve been super busy and not drinking as much water as I should. So getting a vitamin drip couldn’t have come at a better
I started reflecting on what I’ve bought (so far) this year, and of them what has made my life easier. From spending late nights searching on Amazon (because let’s be honest, Amazon has everything); to scrolling through my favorite shopping websites while looking for beauty products, denim shorts, and sandals. As I was sitting at brunch the other day, chatting with friends and the topic of new purchases came up these are the products that came to mind because they’ve given me value or happiness, or both. Here are my 10 best purchases of 2019 that I recommend to my friends over and over again.
Usually Billy and me go all out for the 4th of July; the past two years we hosted parties at our place with our closest friends, made summer-y refreshments, day drank, swam, and watched the fireworks that surround DTLA. This year we were both so busy we stayed home and had more of a relaxing holiday, just the two of us. We went to the rooftop pool, ordered delicious Impossible Burgers from Mohawk Bend, and observed the fireworks display from our terrace. I’m always putting a lot of thought into what I’m going to wear, but between blogging, getting ready for our summer vacation, working
Packing for a summer vacation can be challenging—especially when it comes to shoes. I used to be the type of girl that would pack a suitcase full of them, only to wear a few pairs while I was on vacation. Over the years I’ve learned a simple trick…I plan each outfit in advance before I start packing. Then I take a photo of the outfit along with any accessories, jewelry pieces, and of course, shoes. The ones that go with the most amount of outfits are the ones I’ll bring with me. My style changes depending on where I’m traveling to. If I’m headed to
